Áine Uí Fhoghlú comes from An Rinn, Co. Waterford.

Her poetry collections are Aistear Aonair (Baile Á Atha Cliath, Coiscéim 1999) and An Liú sa Chuan (Coiscéim 2007).

She has edited Dánta Mílaoise (2000), a collection of poems by secondary school students in County Waterford and was Writer in residence with County Kilkenny VEC in 2006.

She has won many awards for her poetry including the Irish language prize at Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown International Poetry Competition 1997, Strokestown International Poetry Festival 2001, the Michael Hartnett Poetry Prize for 2008 for An Liú sa Chuan, Duais Foras na Gaeilge at Listowel Writers’ Week 2009 and first prize at Oireachtas na Gaeilge 2009 for the novella ’Cruba na Cinniuna’.

She lives in An Rinn, the Gaeltacht area of Co. Waterford.
