Patrick Chapman
Patrick Chapman was born in Co Roscommon in 1968.
His poetry collections are Jazztown (Dublin, Raven Arts Press, 1991); The New Pornography (Galway, Salmon, 1996); and Breaking Hearts And Traffic Lights (The Cliffs of Moher, Salmon, 2007).
His first volume of stories is The Wow Signal, (Portishead, Bluechrome, 2007).
His audio play is Doctor Who: Fear of the Daleks (London, Big Finish, 2007).
His work was shortlisted for the Ian St James Award in 1990, and for a Hennessy award in 1995 and 1999. His story, A Ghost, won first prize in the story category of the 2003 Cinescape Genre Literary Competition. He adapted his own short story for the film, Burning The Bed (2003), which stars Gina McKee and Aidan Gillen, and was a prizewinner at the 2004 Worldfest in Houston, Texas. It was also named Best Narrative Short at the 2004 DeadCenter film festival in Oklahoma.
Co-founder with Philip Casey of the Irish Literary Revival website, he lives in Dublin.
