Nessa O’Mahony was born in Dublin.

Her poetry is collected as Bar Talk,* (Dublin, iTaLiCs Press, 1999); Trapping a Ghost (Bristol, Bluechrome, 2005); and Sight of Home (Salmon Poetry, 2009).

In 1996 she was joint winner of the Kerry International Summer School Poetry Competition and was short-listed for The Patrick Kavanagh Award. In 1997 she won the National Woman’s Poetry Competition and was short-listed for the Sunday Tribune / Hennessy New Irish Writing Award.

She is currently Artist in Residence at the John Hume Institute for Global Irish Studies, University College, Dublin, and is Assistant Editor of UK literary journal Orbis.

With Siobhán Campbell she is editor of Eavan Boland: Inside History (Dublin, Arlen House, 2016).

She lives in Dublin.
