Judith Mok was born in Bergen in the Netherlands.

A distinguished classical singer and recording artist, her poetry includes Sterkwater Ambo (De Prom,1985); Materiaal Ambo (De Prom, 1991); Het Feestmaal (Amsterdam, Meulenhoff, 1997); and Gods of Babel (Cliffs of Moher, Co Clare, Salmon Poetry, 2011).

Her novels are Argelozen in het Circus (Bussum, Netherlands, Thoth, 1992, shortlisted for the Prix de l’Academie Française); De Beul (Meulenhoff, 2000); and Gael (London, Telegram Books/Saqi Books, 2006).

Her stories have been shortlisted twice for the Francis McManus Award.

She lives in Dublin.
