Michael Walsh

Michael Walsh was born at Ben of Fore, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath.
His poetry collections are Brown Earth and Green ([with a foreword by Katherine Tynan] Dublin, The Talbot Press, 1929); The Heart Remembers Morning (The Talbot Press, 1931); Red on the Holly (Dublin, Colm O’Lochlainn at the Sign of the Three Candles, 1934); Walls in the Grass (The Talbot Press, 1943); and Michael Walsh, Collected Poems (Dublin, Patrick Walsh, 1996, with an introduction by Benedict Kiely). He died in Wexford on 1st December 1938 at the age of forty-one, and is buried in St Ibar's Cemetary on the banks of the Slaney.
