Máighréad Medbh was born in Newcastlewest, Co Limerick, in 1959.
Her collections are: The Making of a Pagan (Belfast, Blackstaff Press, 1990); Tenant (The Cliffs of Moher, Salmon Poetry, 1999); When the Air Inhales You (Galway, Arlen House, 2009); Twelve Beds for the Dreamer (Dublin, Arlen House, 2010); Pagan to the Core (Dublin, Arlen House, 2014).
She won the Single Poem Competition at Listowel Writers’ Week, 2016, with a poem entitled Easter 2016.
Her prose work is Savage Solitude: Reflections of a Reluctant Loner (Dublin: Dedalus Press, 2013).
Also, in ebook format, she has published The Body Coat, The Coal-black Sea, and The 13th Cone, a novel for adults and teenagers..
Well known as a performer of her work, which is included in ¡Divas! (Arlen House, 2003), many of her performance poems as well as published work are included in her CD, Out of My Skin (Odin Poetries, 2003). All her work is available from her website.
