Mairéad Byrne
Mairéad Byrne’s poetry collections include Talk Poetry (Miami University Press 2007), SOS Poetry (/ubu Editions 2007), and Nelson & The Huruburu Bird (Bray, Wild Honey Press 2003); also five chapbooks, An Educated Heart (Palm Press 2005), Vivas (Wild Honey Press 2005), Kalends (Belladonna* 2005), China Dogs (Poetic Inhalation 2004), and The Pillar (Wild Honey Press 2000).
She is the author of two plays, The Golden Hair and Safe Home, produced at the Project Arts Centre in 1982 and 1985 respectively; two books of interviews with Irish painters, Eithne Jordan (Cork, Gandon Editions 1994) and Michael Mulcahy (Gandon Editions 1995); and a short book on James Joyce, Joyce—A Clew (Dublin, Bluett & Company, 1982), with drawings by Henry J. Sharpe.
She emigrated to the United States in 1994, where she is an Associate Professor of English, teaching poetry and poetics, at Rhode Island School of Design.
