John O'Donohue
John O’Donohue was born in Co Clare in 1953.
An ordained priest with a Ph.D in philosophical theology from the University of Tubingen,
his books on philosopy and wisdom include Anam Cara: Spiritual Wisdom from the Celtic World (London, Bantam Press, 1997/New York, Cliff Street Books, 1997);
Eternal Echoes: Celtic Reflections on Our Yearning to Belong (London, Harper Collins, 1999); Divine Beauty: The Invisible Embrace (Bantam Press, 2003); and Benedictus (Bantam Press, 2007), published in the US as To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings (New York, Doubleday, 2008)
His poetry collections include Echoes of Memory (Cliffs of Moher, Salmon Poetry, 1994); and
Connamara Blues (London, Doubleday, 2000).
He lived in Connemara but he died suddenly in France on January 3, 2008.
