  1. Hello:
A friend of mine from Co. Limerick (who now lives in Clifden) wrote a beautiful book about Sean South.
Des Fogerty is a friend of mine and I believe his story should be told. The name of the book is Sean South of Garryowen. It’s about Sean South when he achieved apotheosis on his death in 1957 in an attack on a police station in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. Little was known of him during his life, yet Ireland came to a standstill for his burial.

This is the story of the man himself and what lead him on a cold New Year’s Day to challenge Britain’s rule in Northern Ireland. I am from the states. I couldn’t put his book down when I read it.

We’re looking into maybe turning it in to a documentary, or a short film. Something anyway. If you are not the person that would produce such a story, can you maybe direct me to someone who does? I do have his book and I will be glad to send it.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.

    Sincerely, Tammy Donahue-McGing
