Anna Heussaff.

Anna Heussaff was born in 1957 and grew up in Dublin.

Her two crime novels in Irish are Bás Tobann (Baile Áth Cliath, Cois Life, 2004) and Buille Marfach (Gaillimh, Cló Iar-Chonnacht, 2010).

Her first crime novel in English is a version of Buille Marfach entitled Deadly Intent (London, Severn House, 2014) and published under her pen name Anna Sweeney.

Hóng (CIC 2012), her second novel for young teenagers, received the Judges Special Award at the CBI Book of the Year Awards 2013, the leading children’s book awards in Ireland. Her first novel in the same genre is Vortex (Cois Life, 2006). Cúpla Focal (Cois Life, 2007) is a novella and contemporary love story for adult learners of Irish. Each of her novels has received the main award in its category in the annual Comórtais an Oireachtais.

Her non-fiction includes Filí agus Cléir san Ochtú hAois Déag (An Clóchomhar 1992), an examination of poetry by and about the clergy in the 18th century.

She lives in Dublin.
