Julian Gough was born to Irish parents in 1966 in London, and grew up in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

His novels for adults are Juno & Juliet (London, Flamingo, 2001); Jude Level 1 (London, Old Street Publishing, 2007); and Jude in London (Old Street Publishing, 2012). Jude Level 1 is also known as Jude in Ireland.

His poetry is collected as Free Sex Chocolate (Cliffs of Moher, Salmon Poetry, 2010).

His books for children include Rabbit’s Bad Habits (London, Hodder Children’s Books, 2016).

His awards include the BBC National Short Story Prize (2007). Jude Level 1 was shortlisted for the Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction, and for the 2014 Davy Byrnes Short Story Award for his story, Harvest.

He is a former singer and songwriter with the band Toasted Heretic, which was formed in Galway in the late 1980s and recorded four albums.

He lives in Berlin.
