Lisa Burkitt was born in the USA to Irish parents, and grew up in Donegal.
Her debut novel is The Memory of Scent (Dublin/Gloucestershire, UK, The History Press, 2012).
Her stories have been anthologised in the Faber Book of Best New Irish Short Stories (London, Faber & Faber, 2008); Queens Noir (New York, Akashic Books, 2008); and Best Paris Stories (Arizona, Summertime Publications, 2012). She was the winner of the Fiction International short fiction contest, 2011.
A print journalist before moving into broadcast journalism, she has produced and presented radio documentaries and a current affairs/arts panel show on Highland Radio, Donegal.
She lives in Donegal.
