James (Jimmy) Brennan was born in Dublin in 1944.

He was a member of the Stanislavski Studio at Focus Theatre from 1967-1969.

His novel is Seaman (Dublin, Irish Writers Co-Op,1978). His poems and stories have been published in Cyphers and the Irish Press.

His one-act play was Blind Salad (Dublin, Focus Theatre, October 1979).

He wrote the screenplay for Pigs (director Cathal Black, 1984), in which he also played the lead role.

His poems appeared in the Irish Press, and Cyphers, which also published his short fiction.

He died in Dublin December 8, 2006.
